The 3rd Box Challenge is a two-target course of fire designed to test your proficiency with both a pistol and a rifle. It requires a seamless transition between firearms, precision shooting, and advanced handling skills. To practice this course correctly:
Print two separate target pages.
Thoroughly understand the drill before attempting it live.
Key Instructions
Dry Fire Preparation:
Perform the drill 150 times dry fire before attempting it live.
Walk yourself through each step to ensure procedural safety and familiarity.
Magazine Round Counts:
Rifle: Load your magazine to 4 rounds with 1 round chambered (5 rounds total).
Pistol: Load your magazine to 3 rounds with 1 round chambered (4 rounds total).
Firearm Transition:
ALWAYS SAFE YOUR RIFLE BEFORE TRANSITIONING. Even if the magazine is downloaded and empty, ensure the rifle is on safe.
Firearm Safety Rules
Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.
Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire.
Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.
